Date: 06 JUNE 24
Antimicrobial resistance poses a critical global challenge, as drug-resistant pathogens increasingly hinder the treatment of life-threatening infections. Voxcan addresses this challenge by developing six mouse infection models utilizing bioluminescent bacteria derived from isolated strains of KAPE bacteria (Klebsiella Pneumoniae, Acinetobacter Baumannii, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Escherichia Coli). These bacteria are of significant public health concern due to their capacity to cause various infections and their tendency to develop antibiotic resistance.
In this context, Raafat Fares, PhD, ERT, Scientific Director at ERBC Group and Marc Vandamme, Senior Scientist and R&D programs Manager, Voxcan, ERBC Group are offering educational insights into bacteria, antibiotics, and resistance mechanisms during an upcoming webinar. He will also discuss how mouse models, coupled with imaging technology, allow for real-time monitoring of infection progression, offering invaluable insights for the evaluation of new antibacterial drugs.
